Requirements and Deadlines
First-time freshmen applicants are required to submit the following information. Applicants are encouraged to submit all materials at the same time, in a single package, to facilitate processing.
- Application and fee
- Official high school transcripts
- SAT or ACT scores
- Portfolio with description list
- Statement of purpose
- Letters of reference
- List of activities/Resume
Freshman applications are reviewed beginning in January. The application review process may take a month or more from the date of submission of all required materials, especially for applications that are submitted on or near the deadline. Applicants are encouraged to complete their application well in advance of the date by which they want to learn of the admissions decision.
MassArt notifies candidates by mail when they have been approved for admission, not approved for admission, or placed on a waiting list. Any vacancies are filled by wait-listed candidates throughout the late spring and early summer.
