First-Time Freshmen
The foundation program offers first-year students a solid grounding in a wide variety of studio techniques and media.First-time freshmen applicants are admitted to the studio foundation program, which is MassArt's curriculum for first-year students. As its name suggests, the program introduces students to the fundamentals of various art and design disciplines. Students are required to complete the foundation program before choosing a major.
Applicants who have not had any formal education beyond high school are considered first-time freshmen applicants, even if they have been out of high school for several years.
Please note that MassArt does not consider applications from students who do not have a high school diploma or equivalency.
